Holiday Hampers

The Bridgeland Elves are a community group of volunteers who have supported Forward Housing for several years. Each holiday season they hold a hamper drive for Forward Housing tenants in conjunction with the Bridgeland Market. Together with our generous donors, the Elves are aiming to collect $10,000 in 2022 to support the Holiday Hampers project. You can support the cause here!

Community Gardening

At Bishop’s Manor we have established a community garden for tenants. The garden empowers tenants to develop the skills needed to grow their own produce. Many low-income individuals do not have access to a garden of their own and joining a traditional community garden can be too pricey. Alongside education, the community garden increases food security, provides potential sources of income, opens future employment opportunities and improves tenant mental health.

Move ‘N Mingle

Forward Housing Association is proud to host Move N Mingle in three of our buildings. Move N Mingle is an Alberta Health Services (AHS) program which offers fall prevention and independent living exercise classes at a variety of sites throughout the city.

This is a group activity consisting of 45 minutes of exercise twice weekly, facilitated by a certified Older Adult fitness instructor with additional balance and falls prevention education. Registration is done through the link below.
